This property named Southworth Cottage is a five- minute walk from the Southworth ferry dock, three- minute walk, from the Southworth Grocery and the Southworth Post Office.

The Washington State passenger only ferry is a very short restful thirty-five-minute ride to downtown Seattle, from Southworth. This passenger only boat lands at Coleman dock on the downtown Seattle waterfront. Coleman dock is in the heart of downtown Seattle, close to south Lake Union, hospitals, clinics, universities, businesses, opera, symphony, and a host of restaurants.

The same Southworth ferry location is also served by an automobile ferry. Via this ferry, it is one hour to Seattle – Tacoma international airport, 35 minutes of which are on the Automobile/passenger ferry from Southworth to Fauntleroy. Here at Fauntleroy Uber, taxis, busses all connect to Sea-Tac from the Fauntleroy dock. This a very convenient way to reach the airport, and leave your car in your own garage.

The historic small village of Southworth, once considered a bedroom community to Seattle, is located in central west Puget Sound on the Kitsap Peninsula, directly west across from the Northern tip of Vashon island and west Seattle. It is a quiet private place to live. Several of Chief Seattle’s relatives as well as former members of the pioneering Denny family are buried here as well as confederate soldiers, in our local cemetery.

Puget Sound or the Salish Sea, nearly surrounds the whole of Kitsap county, a most beautiful and exciting connection with ocean.

Kitsap county is adjacent to the great outdoors like few other places. Being a peninsula thrust into the center of the greater Puget Sound, it abounds in marine activity.

Close to Southworth Cottage there are multiple yacht harbors for storage and moorage of boats of all sizes, and launches also nearby. Kayak rentals, paddle board rentals great eateries in Gig Harbor, the harbor of the Gig, a small rowing boat.

Puget Sound is the major gateway to the inside passage to Alaska, with some of the most spectacular boating waters in the world. If you are sports minded and outdoors inclined, this is area for you.

Forested low and high mountain hiking and horse trails of all kinds are everywhere, from 14,409’ Mount Rainer to the notched and pointed Olympic mountains to the stony rough Olympic beaches.

These beaches are among some of wildest and most maritime in the world. From Cape Tatoosh, on Washington northwest coast, to the majestic Columbia River, Washington’s southwest corner, the whole of Washington’s rugged coast is swept by the warm Japanese current. This current is filled with all manner of sea life. Our area has some of the best salmon fishing areas in the world. The rivers are teeming with fresh water steelhead fishing as well.

If you should head east over the Cascade mountains into eastern Washington, you run into high desert, filled with native Americans, cowboys, cattle, and horse ranches. The geology on the east side of the state is one of twisted basalt with great plateaus and river valleys, with potato, wheat and corn farms. This part of the state also has some of the best wine growing regions in the entire United States, producing wines of international fame.

We welcome you to come visit this, our gracious home, while it is under refurbishment. Should you decide to lease, but live out of the area, we can forward process shots as this classic iconic Southworth home comes to fruition.

We will be posting incremental updates on the progress up to completion.

This unique property is to lease for $3.500, triple net, i.e. monthly utilities added to the lease.
